May 27, 2003 || 12:54 amIntent. This is where we are measured. Not by our actions. Rather our actions and their outcomes are measured by our intent.
What you intend sets your goals. Your intent puts value in yourself. Thus, if you do not intend to do anything then it is tantamount to nothing. Even if something came of it.
When you understand and learn the intent of someone for doing what he does, surely you will understand him as a person. You may or may not dislike him for having that intent. But you know him better for knowing his reasons.
A person giving all his fortunes to the poor to impress a girl is no saint. A person keeping his fortunes to himself for his daughter's future welfare is no grinch. The reason behind always sheds light.
But, sadly, at times not even the individual realises the reasons for their actions. Sometimes, others see their intents better than they do. Their intents elude them.
It is for this that some are inclined to believe there are no reasons. Just because intents live in the dark doesn't mean they are not.
Ultimately, look to your intensions for they reveal who you really are.
